Turok is another scene of the popular series of gunfights, which began the game Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (Nintendo 64) in February 1997 by studio Iguana Entertainment. Production of the new program, prepared with a view to consoles, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, took a little-known company Propaganda Games. The game was also developed for personal computers (the authors of that conversion is a studio Developers Aspyr Media).
The action takes place in the near future, its main character Joseph Turok is - one of the elite commando troops who had been sent on a mission to eliminate a dangerous offender, Roland Kane, accused of numerous war crimes. The army suspects that the target is hidden on a mysterious planet, for many years serving as a place for researchers to conduct genetic experiments. When you try to land on the surface, the ship is shot down by a commando of the enemy. Turok comes out unscathed from the pile-ups and begin a dangerous mission in the area. In addition to the confrontation with armed to the teeth soldiers Kane, waiting for him here also clashes with the huge dinosaurs.
Created using Unreal Engine 3 game, allows the user to choose between an open fight, and the slow extermination of the enemies out of hiding. In the first case is a vast array of useful resources destruction (thirteen different types of weapons), comprising, inter alia, pistols, machine guns and flame throwers. The second method requires more finesse, and therefore in the foreground stand out here for knives and a bow. The latter is a weapon-distance, but so quiet and efficient that it can eliminate an opponent without causing unnecessary confusion.
The new Turoku main opponents are people, but this does not mean that the program deprives us of the possibility of encounters with dinosaurs and all other fantastic creatures. Reptiles are neutral enemies that can attack as well, Joseph, and Kane's troops. Animals also are fighting among themselves, in which the lead tyrannosaurids huge lead, progressively eliminating the smaller brethren. Direct confrontation with the dinosaurs is very exhaustive. As a rule it is better to hide and await a visit in the area nachalnego inhabitant of the planet, than to enter into an open duel.
The game has a very nice visual setting, with beautifully devoted jungle, which are ongoing struggles. The action takes place mainly in the forest, though it lacked the military bases and laboratories.
In addition to the struggles singleplayerowych players can also count on a full mutliplayer. In the games the network may participate up to sixteen people.
